SCARS March Meeting – Tomorrow

All the good info about what, when, and where, is here:
http://w5nor.org/index.html#marchmeeting

Briefly,
We’ll eat donuts and drink coffee starting at 9,
President Rodney will call us to order for business at 9:30,
after “business” WG5T will do a show and tell about PSK31,
and I’ll do a quick talk about the benefits of being an ARRL member.
BE THERE!

Worldwide YL DMR Talkgroup

When Gary asked me to write about the WWYL Talk Group 955, the first thing that came to my head was, an old Connie Francis song that as a kid, I used to change the words.  From “where the boys are”, to “where the girls are”!!

I am just now setting up my DMR radio. So expert, I am not (yet).  However, a very nice YL, Dvora, (4X4NW) from Israel, is helping me.

So what is Talk Group 955:  just a bunch of YL’s, or it will be as soon as we can get the word out!  We do not have any specific nets set up yet.  As soon as we get this organized, we will and I will let everyone know!

How do you get to the talk group?  All the info is published in http://w5nor.org/okdmr/. In order to add the talk group details (transceiver dependable), you should refer to the codeplug page http://w5nor/codeplugs/index.html). Just remember, Worldwide Young Ladies talk group, WWYL is TG 955. The Code Color (CC) is 1, and the Time Slot (TS) should be set to 2.

You can listen to the recorded archives here: http://hose.brandmeister.network/955/

BTW there is a talk group set up for JOTA #907!

*Some* of us need a refresher. Here is one resource, you may have a favorite yourself. The “Money Quote” for me is the formula.

 Collector & Emitter

Here is the direct link to the historical issues of CORA’s almost 30 year long, monthly publication, The Collector & Emitter. Lot’s of great stories, True and Fiction, MANY club meeting notes, Happenings in Oklahoma Amateur Radio, and for me at least, a ton of memories about the Amateur Radio Dealers which we had in the OKC area. Lots and lots of fun reading.

When you start reading these, the clock will just melt away…
