April Meeting Aftermath

We “ONLY” had 63 in attendance last Saturday, but WA6DKD did a GREAT demo on building antennas. Here are some images from that demo taken by SCARS members.

[Note: This week’s “Featured Image” of the NL was stolen shamelessly from WX5GOR!]

Learn more about antennas and building them at the SCARS Antenna page:

Spring Picnic Rescheduled

The 4″ rain two weeks ago flooded W5IFN’s backyard and moved some things around. Therefore, the SCARS Spring Picnic has been rescheduled for NEXT Saturday – April 22nd, 4pm! Don’t you dare miss it!

ARRL Incoming QSL Bureau

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that you could ever want to know about getting real live QSL cards into your hot little hands can be found right there. If it ain’t here, you don’t need to know about it!

 Collector & Emitter

Here is the direct link to the historical issues of CORA’s almost 30 year long, monthly publication, The Collector & Emitter. Lot’s of great stories, True and Fiction, MANY club meeting notes, Happenings in Oklahoma Amateur Radio, and for me at least, a ton of memories about the Amateur Radio Dealers which we had in the OKC area. Lots and lots of fun reading.

When you start reading these, the clock will just melt away…

 Weekly “Memories” Nag?

That list is at the bottom of the SCARS Repeater blog maintained by our trusty Trustee, N5UWY – SCARS Repeater Blog (that underlined part is a hyperlink straight to the repeater blog). Scroll down to the Red Box at the bottom of the blog to find the recommended memory entries for you VHF/UHF equipment.

  1. Thanks and once again a good opportunity to catch up on AR happenings around North America. I like the article on antennas, personally my favourite AR subject. The 2m tape measure yagi is a great option for 2m portable and SOTA ops. I think I will construct one just for a bit of fun!
