Field Day Begins

Setup starts at 8 AM.
Needed – People to help put up the tent. More important because of rain rather than heat this year.
Needed – People to Mentor Get On The Air operators. Signup schedule can be found here: http://tiny.cc/SCARS-GOTA-signup
Needed – People to Operate Get On The Air station. Signup schedule can be found here: http://tiny.cc/SCARS-GOTA-signup
Needed – People to Operate Phone and CW stations. Show-up and kick someone out of the chair. (NOTE: There are ALWAYS empty seats in the middle of the night)
Needed – People to Eat Supper Saturday evening. It’ll start around 5:30-ish.
Needed – People to help tear down GOTA station. Due to my schedule, this will start at Noon Sunday, and you can hang around to help tear down the other parts of Field Day afterwards.

Here is where we will be:
2501 Jenkins Ave, Norman, OK 73072.
Also known as 35.1924° N, 97.4405° W.
And can also be found squarely in the middle of the NE quadrant of Grid Square EM15ge.
For those of you who just nee a map, here is one (below), but you can always get vectors on the SCARS repeater – 147.06+ (141.3).
There will also be signs on the Jenkins and Constitution entries to the Park.

EVERYTHING you’d EVER need to KNOW about FIELD DAY can be found right HERE:  http://w5nor.org/fd/index.html

 Collector & Emitter

Here is the direct link to the historical issues of CORA’s almost 30 year long, monthly publication, The Collector & Emitter. Lot’s of great stories, True and Fiction, MANY club meeting notes, Happenings in Oklahoma Amateur Radio, and for me at least, a ton of memories about the Amateur Radio Dealers which we had in the OKC area. Lots and lots of fun reading.

When you start reading these, the clock will just melt away…
