SCARS Meeting Fallout
The August Club Meeting was, as usual, an awesome event. I remarked to WG5T that most people have taken the “Coffee and Donut” period (9am – 9:30am) as a “must attend”. I got there a little before 9 and the room was already full! I know that Saturday’s meeting was the best 3 hours I spent anywhere doing anything this last week!
We had a great turnout of 60+, and after business, had an absolutely fabulous presentation on Vacuum Tubes by our resident expert – W7WLM. Conrad did NOT disappoint! With circuits drawn on the white board and live examples galore, helped out by iPad video shared-large on the screen, Conrad led us through a Tour De Force of these hot little wonders. With the help of KD5UGO, we even got to hear a nice “chirpy” CW signal on Phil’s Vacuum Tube receiver. A Drake, by the way. We also had equipment to touch and paw from WD5HCI, Jon.
Oh, you say “Golly, I wish I’d been there! I would’ve loved to see this presentation!”
Well, you’re in luck. The whole shebang was posted earlier this week to SCARS’ Youtube Channel! Oh, you didn’t know that SCARS had a Youtube Channel? Well, we do. You can watch Conrad’s talk, and several others, right here:

Also, over back-to-back weeks, SCARS got mentions and kudos on Ham Nation and Amateur Radio Newsline because of Ham Holiday and the YLRL Convention!
