SCARS Logo Items Are Here — Menu

To help spread the spirit of SCARS, the club has arranged for some additional logo items. The newest members of the fleet are some larger stickers, an iron-on patch, and a soft enamel pin, as shown above. The 3″ sticker costs $1, the 3″ iron-on patch is $2, and the 1.25″ enameled pin is $3. These new items are available at club meetings, or at Elmer Nights. These have all been added to the small stickers, coffee mugs, and hats on the SCARS Logo Items page. Also on the page is a link to our custom embroidery provider that can provide your callsign and/or club logo on shirts, hats, coats, and more.

Enid Hamfest This Weekend — Menu

The start of November always brings cold weather and the Enid Hamfest. This event starts at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 2nd will run through 2:00 pm. There are donuts in the morning, hot dogs for lunch and lots of great vendor tables throughout the day. There will be an ARES/ARRL forum at 10:00 am and others throughout the day. W5YI VE testing starts at 1:00 pm. (Bring a copy of your license if you want to upgrade.)

This hamfest has the commercial vendors from Kansas, and always seems to have all of the great small parts and pieces you just can’t find anywhere else. This happens at the Hoover Building on the Garfield County Fairgrounds, 305 E Oxford Ave., Enid, OK. One block west of U.S. 64 (N 4th St). 36.42796, -97.87545

More information is available at the Enid ARC’s hamfest website, https://enidarc.org/enidhamfest.

Ardmore Hamarama Recap — Menu

Last weekend was the 72nd annual Texoma Hamarama and another great hamfest is in the books. MTC was the anchor vendor and the other vendors filled the room with sales of everything from antennas, to amplifiers, to custom engraving, and a whole lot more.

The West Gulf Division Director John Stratton N5AUS was there and led the ARRL/ARES forums, giving Oklahoma hams another chance to talk with our national representative. And, for those that hadn’t turned in their Director ballots, it gave them one more chance to visit with John before the November 15th ballot due date. If you still have your ARRL director ballot, make sure you get it mailed this week.

There was an ARRL VE test session that added another new ham to the roster and gave a few hams a chance to upgrade.

Everywhere we looked, we saw another SCARS member, so if you didn’t make it to this one, put it on your calendar for next year.
