Christmas Eve at Honor Roll Ranch — Menu
Here’s a blast from the past. In the 1980’s, Jack Bickham KU5B wrote a continuing story line in the Central Oklahoma Radio Amateur newsletter, titled the Collector and Emitter. You can still see this story line on the web at https://w5nor.org/qrzedd. This story line was about a fictional character Q.R. Zedd, who was loosely based on our own Gordon Jones W5OU.
In December 1986, Jack posted his Christmas Eve story from Honor Roll Ranch, and we’ve included it here, as it printed back then.
Elmer Night Schedule — Menu
Elmer Night will suspend for 12/31/2019, and we’ll resume on 1/7/2020 at the Red Cross. See you there.
Winter Field Day is Coming — Menu
This is the third year that SCARS will participate in the Winter Field Day activities. Our goal is to set up and operate emergency radios for 24 hours straight. This year, we will operate January 25 and 26, at the Red Cross, 1205 Halley Avenue, in Norman. More information will be coming in the newsletter, at the January SCARS meeting, and on the Winter Field Day website.
Typical field day setup will start Saturday, January 25th at about 9:00 local and tear-down will happen on Sunday, January 26th at about 13:00 local. We start transmitting at 13:00 local on Saturday and operate for 24 hours straight until 13:00 local on Sunday.
Make your plans to be at Winter Field Day 2020!
